In Boglar, right on the shore, there’s this laid-back, almost inconspicuous place where summer in Balaton really is just as you imagined it as a kid – only now with a glass of rosé in your hand.
When I first wandered there, it was afternoon. The sun was still shining, but no longer burning. The music wasn’t intrusive, it just kept the beat, like when a group of friends hum softly. I sat down at a wooden table, asked for a splash – and stayed. I just didn’t feel like getting up. I watched the water ripple, and people walking barefoot on the shore with bags of flamingos, laughing. It was nothing special, yet perfect.
The good thing about the Fröccsterasz is that it doesn’t want to be more. There’s no dressing up, no „instagrammable” design – yet that’s what gives it its charm.
